Self-guided tours are available every day from 7am to 10pm.

When you book a tour, we'll send you instructions and a map showing which units are open for display, so you can walk through each size we offer before deciding.

Self storage is a storage space you can rent to store personal or business items. At StoreGo Self Storage, we offer a variety of storage unit sizes and amenities to accommodate these needs.

Check out our Unit Size Guide for detailed information on all our available unit sizes, from small units perfect for boxes and seasonal items, to large units that can accommodate entire homes. The guide includes visual comparisons, capacity details, and recommended uses for each size.

Yes! Our current move-in special gives you:

  • 99% off your first month
  • A complimentary disc lock for the first 200 customers (see “Do I Need to Bring My Own Lock?”)

There's a 2-month minimum term: your second month is billed at the standard monthly rate, and you continue at that standard rate from month three onward. The discounted first month shows on each unit card when you browse availability, and the promo applies automatically at checkout — see “What Happens to My Rate After the Promo Ends?” for the full billing timeline.

Once your promotional first month ends, your rate returns to the standard base rent listed in your rental agreement, charged from your second month onward. See “Is Rent Prorated for Move-In or Move-Out?” for the exact promo-to-standard billing timeline, and “Is My Price Guaranteed for as Long as I Rent?” for how that base rate can change over time.

Rent online in minutes, or call us at (859) 710-8804 to speak with our AI agent (faster) or one of our helpful storage experts.

  1. Know what you need? Go straight to our storage units, use the filters to narrow down by size, climate control and access type, and pick your move-in date.
  2. Not sure which size? Our unit size guide shows what fits in each unit, from 25 to 400 sq ft.
  3. Book and move in - Reserve online in minutes and move in on the date you chose, as early as today for units that are ready (see “Can I Move In Today?”).

Not right away. When you reserve a unit, we check your payment method and save it for your move-in payment, but we don't charge you. The charge only goes through once you sign your rental agreement. Your bank may show a pending amount while your reservation is active; it drops off on its own, and we only ever take payment once.

If you don't sign within the 48-hour reservation window, the reservation expires and you aren't charged. If you've already signed but then decide to cancel before your move-in date, refunds aren't automatic. Just email us at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com and we'll process it for you.

No, we don't perform credit checks. We check your payment method when you reserve and charge your move-in payment once your booking is complete (see “Does Reserving a Unit Require Payment?”). We'll show you how much to have available on your card before you finish booking.

Your reservation holds the unit for 48 hours, your window to review and sign the rental agreement. If you don't sign within 48 hours, the reservation expires and you aren't charged (see “Does Reserving a Unit Require Payment?” for details). Once your lease is signed, the unit is yours through to your chosen move-in date.

Online booking lets you choose a unit by size and type, but the specific unit is generally assigned based on availability, with a preference for proximity to the building gate. If you'd like a particular unit, you can call us at (859) 710-8804 — but note that this may delay your move-in timeline.

2Facility & Access

All unit doors have a height of 7 feet. Door width varies by unit size:

  • 5×5 units: 3-foot wide door
  • All other units: 8-foot wide door

As part of our current promotion, we're providing the first 200 customers with a complimentary disc lock — absolutely free. Your lock will be ready for you on move-in day, so you can secure your unit right away without any extra trip to the store.

Please contact us to schedule a lock cut at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com.

Our units use disc locks. Below are step-by-step instructions for using a disc lock:

Close Your Door Tightly

Ensure your door is firmly shut. If you have a roll-up door, step on the kick plate to allow the bottom of the door to seal properly against the ground.

Secure the Latch

Slide the door's metal latch (the sliding bolt) all the way to the right. Give your door a tug to check that the latch is holding firm and the door doesn't budge.

Prepare Your Lock

Insert the key into your disc lock and turn it to the "open" position. The curved metal shackle should retract into the lock's body. Leave the key in the lock.

Attach the Lock

Place the lock through the holes where the sliding latch and the door frame meet. The lock should "pin" the latch so it cannot slide back open.

Lock it Up

Turn the key to the locked position to extend the shackle through the latch, then remove the key. Give the lock a firm pull to ensure it is fully secured.

No, the lock is yours to keep. You can use it again if you rent another unit with us.

You will get access on your selected move-in day. Same-day move-ins are available for units we've prepared in advance — just select today's date in the date picker to filter to those units (see “Can I Move In Today?”). You'll receive instructions on when and how to access your unit.

Yes. Standard gate access is 6am to 11pm, seven days a week. If you need 24/7 access, it's available on request at no extra cost — just email our facility manager at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com and we'll enable it on your account.

No elevator needed — all our self-storage units are on the ground floor. You can move your belongings straight from your vehicle to your unit without stairs or elevators.

Yes — ADA-accessible units may be available. Please contact our facility manager at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com for help reserving one and for more information about accessibility accommodations at the facility.

Yes, you can share your access code and unit keys with anyone you trust. Please note that you are responsible for anyone you grant access to, and sharing access is a decision made at your own risk.

Your gate codes are emailed and texted to you around your move-in day. If you can't find them, you can always view them in your account portal under the Leases tab. If you still need help, please send an email to manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com.

Yes. We provide 12 customer parking spaces plus 2 accessible (handicap) spaces for customers to park their car or other vehicles while visiting the facility. Parking is shared and intended for short-term use during your visit (loading/unloading, office visits, etc.)

No. Unless you are renting a parking space, our parking lot is for short-term customer parking during visits only. If a vehicle is left beyond the permitted period, we will try to contact the owner when possible; vehicles may be towed or removed in accordance with posted signage and facility policy.

Yes — we rent 10×30 ft outdoor parking spaces, suitable for RVs, boats, trailers, and other vehicles. You can book one directly on our website in the RV parking section.

Parking spaces are not covered by our insurance program — you keep your own vehicle insurance, and we'll ask for proof of coverage within 30 days of move-in.

Yes, vehicles (including cars, boats, etc.) may be stored inside drive-up accessible units, as long as they fit fully inside the unit.

StoreGo Self Storage is as secure as you can make a commercial building outside of a military installation. Our facility offers super secure storage units, thanks to the following storage security features:

  • 24/7 Video Surveillance: With AI-powered video cameras monitoring our self storage properties 24/7.
  • Electronic Gate and Building Access: Personalized access codes for each customer.
  • Responsive Facility Management: Our facility manager monitors the property and responds to any issues — reach them at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com.
  • Tall Perimeter Fence: StoreGo Self Storage Dayton includes a tall fence surrounding the perimeter of the property.

We're an unmanned facility, so there are no set office hours and there usually isn't anyone on-site. Our facility manager monitors the property and responds to any issues — reach them at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com or call us at (859) 710-8804. You can book a self-guided tour or reserve a unit online 24/7.

No. We can't accept mail or packages at the facility. We recommend using a PO Box at a nearby post office.

StoreGo Self Storage Dayton is brand new and therefore does not have any pests, yet the facility is scheduled to be treated for pests and rodents on a regular schedule by nationally recognized pest control experts.

Regarding cleanliness, cleaners come once per week to clean the StoreGo Self Storage Facility, and the grounds are kept tidy on a regular basis.

3Your Unit

A drive-through unit is a ground-level storage unit with roll-up doors at both ends, allowing vehicles to drive straight through rather than back in and out. This makes loading and unloading easier — simply pull in one side, access your belongings, and exit through the opposite door.

Our drive-through units are ideal for:

  • Large vehicles: Store trucks, trailers, RVs, or boats with easy access from both ends
  • Business inventory: Efficiently load and unload shipments
  • Moving: Pull your moving truck straight through for convenient access

Drive-through units are located in Building B (units B-021 through B-026) and offer the same access as all our units.

Yes — each unit has a single overhead light for basic visibility.

No — our storage units do not have electrical outlets or in-unit power access.

Climate controlled units are located in Building A (interior units only). These units maintain a consistent temperature and humidity level year-round, making them ideal for storing temperature-sensitive items such as electronics, artwork, wooden furniture, documents, and musical instruments.

Drive-up accessible units in Buildings A (exterior), B, and C are not climate controlled but offer convenient vehicle access for loading and unloading.

When browsing available units on our website, look for the "Climate Controlled" badge displayed on each unit card. You can also use the filter options to show only climate controlled units.

The climate controlled units are typically kept between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. This range helps prevent damage from extreme heat, cold, or humidity.

Climate-controlled units are kept at around 50% humidity year-round.

Our climate-controlled units regulate both temperature and humidity year-round — they're ideal for items sensitive to humidity like electronics, instruments, artwork, and wood furniture. See “Which Units Are Climate Controlled?” for details on which units offer this.

Once you have confirmed your booking online, you will receive a Digital Welcome Pack via email — including your contract, move-in instructions and a facility map showing where your unit is — and you will also receive your gate and facility access codes via email and/or SMS. All this information is also available in your Account Portal, under the Support tab.

When you arrive, you may find a small plastic zip tie holding an ID tag on your unit's door latch. This isn't a lock — it's just how we tag vacant units. Simply break or cut it off, and your unit is ready to use.

Remember to secure the door with a disc lock (see “Do I Need to Bring My Own Lock?”).

Yes! The fastest way is to book online — just select today's date in the date picker and the available units will be filtered to those ready for immediate move-in. You'll get access instructions right after checkout so you can move in the same day. If none of those units fit your needs, please try another move-in date.

Yes! We have 4 dolly carts available in the lobbies to help you move your goods to and from your unit. Carts are shared among customers and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We don't currently offer boxes, packing materials, or moving supplies at our facility. We recommend picking these up at a local home improvement or moving supply store before your move-in day.

We don't provide moving services or labor — you'll need to arrange your own movers or a moving truck. Once you're on site, our “dolly carts” are available in the lobbies to help you move items between your vehicle and your unit.

Head to your Account Portal, go to the Billing section and cancel via the Stripe portal by clicking the "Cancel subscription" button. This will end the lease at the end of the current billing cycle and disable your access codes at that time. You will see the date when it cancels — this is the last day you can move out.

Once you've cancelled, check our FAQ "“What's the Process for Moving Out?”" for what to do with your unit before your last day.

First, cancel your lease if you haven't already. Check our FAQ "“How Do I Cancel My Lease?”" for step-by-step instructions.

Before your last day, please ensure your unit is completely empty, clean, and your lock has been removed. Then, send an email to manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com attaching a photo of your empty unit.

4Contract

Yes, storage units are rented on a month-to-month basis, unless a promotional minimum term applies — our current move-in special has a 2-month minimum (see “Do You Have Any Move-In Specials Right Now?”).

While some StoreGo customers rent self storage long term, many of our storage customers rent monthly storage units for short-term situations like:

  • Moving to a new home or office space
  • Decluttering or remodeling a home
  • Working through a major life transition
  • Storing dorm room items over summer break

We do not impose a minimum length of stay; all of our leases are month-to-month — unless a promotional minimum term applies. Our current move-in special has a 2-month minimum (see “Do You Have Any Move-In Specials Right Now?”).

During our current promotion, the shortest rental is effectively the 2-month minimum term (99% off month 1, then the standard monthly rate for month 2 — see “Do You Have Any Move-In Specials Right Now?”). Leases are month-to-month and you're free to move out whenever you need (see “Is There a Minimum Stay Required?”), but billing runs in full monthly cycles and unused days aren't refunded (see “Is Rent Prorated for Move-In or Move-Out?”). So if you move out during the 2-month minimum term, you'll pay through the end of that term; if you move out after it, you'll pay through the end of your current monthly cycle.

Your rental period begins at midnight at the start of your selected move-in date, so you can access your unit any time that day. Each subsequent month is billed on the same anniversary date (see “Is Rent Prorated for Move-In or Move-Out?” for how billing cycles work).

StoreGo Self Storage has committed to the StoreGo Rental Rate Transparency Pledge which means that all "StoreGo Base Rental Rate" increases are typically capped at 10% within a given year. The StoreGo Base Rental Rate is the rental rate for a given unit, after sign-up discounts end, as defined in each customer's rental agreement.

StoreGo Self Storage rental rates might increase on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, following the StoreGo Rental Rate Transparency Pledge, but are typically capped at 10% within a given year.

5Account & Billing

Accounts are created automatically when you book your first unit. You'll receive an email to set your password — after that, sign in to your Account Portal to check your access codes, rental agreement, billing, and handle anything else related to your storage with us.

  1. Click on the "Sign In" button in the top right corner of our website.
  2. Click "Forgot Password?" above the "Continue" button in the middle of the screen.

You should have enrolled in AutoPay when you confirmed your booking, but if your credit card information needs to be updated then you can update your credit card info and make a payment on our website through your account portal. Follow these instructions:

  1. On any page of our website, click the "Sign In" button in the top right corner. If you are already signed in, click "Account" and then select "My Account" from the dropdown.
  2. Click "Billing" in the middle of the screen.
  3. Click the "Open Billing Portal" link.
  4. Click "Add Payment Method" in the middle of the screen.
  5. Add your new credit card information.
  6. Click the three dots in the same "Payment Method" section.
  7. Click "Delete" to delete your old payment method.

We do not accept checks. Sorry!

Apologies, StoreGo Self Storage cannot accept prepaid cards. Please use a credit or debit card that allows recurring payments and has sufficient funds.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cash payments at this time. All payments are processed electronically through our secure online billing system. We accept all major credit and debit cards.

AutoPay ("automatic payments") is automatically set up when booking with StoreGo Self Storage. Our units are rented on a month to month basis and these automatic payments can be cancelled, when you end your lease, at any time. Please note that the last payment of each subject month will need to be paid in full though!

No — we don't require a security deposit. The only fee added at move-in is insurance (see “What Fees Will I Pay at Move-In?”).

Insurance is the only added fee at move-in — there's no admin fee, no security deposit (see “Is There a Security Deposit?”), and no lock fee (your lock is free during our current promotion; see “Do I Need to Bring My Own Lock?”). For first-month promo pricing and the 2-month minimum term, see “Do You Have Any Move-In Specials Right Now?”.

We use anniversary billing from your move-in date — if you move in on the 15th, every monthly charge lands on the 15th from then on.

Your first two months make up the 2-month minimum term:

  • Month 1 (e.g., Jul 15 – Aug 14): 99% off
  • Month 2 (Aug 15 – Sep 14): standard monthly rate (part of the 2-month minimum)
  • Month 3 onwards (Sep 15+): standard monthly rate, billed on the same anniversary date

Move-in: no proration — each billed month covers a full anniversary-to-anniversary cycle, the promo month included.

Move-out: no refund for unused days. If you cancel during the 2-month minimum term, your lease ends at the end of that term (Month 2). If you cancel after it, your lease ends at the end of your current monthly billing cycle. Either way, it's worth timing your move-out close to your anniversary date to make the most of the month you've paid for. See “How Do I Cancel My Lease?” for the cancellation steps.

Your monthly rent is due on the same day each month (the anniversary date of the rental). If you don't make your monthly rent payment within 5 days of its due date, you will be charged a late fee. Late fees will be assessed on or after the 6th day following the customer's paid-through date.

If you are over a certain number of days late in making your monthly payment (depending on the state where the facility is located) then we will overlock your unit. Please contact your facility manager if your unit has been overlocked and yet you have paid any backpay due to StoreGo Self Storage.

Who Can Rent a Storage Space?

Adults 18 years or older with a valid ID.

What type of ID is required to rent a storage space?

A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID card, passport, student ID, or military ID.

How Can I Use the Storage Space?

Our storage spaces are intended to help declutter your home, ease a transition, or keep storage off-site. Living in or working out of your storage space is prohibited.

Are There Restrictions on Items I Can Store?

Below are some examples of prohibited items:

  • Hazardous materials – such as toxic chemicals, including bleach
  • Illegal items – such as drugs or stolen goods
  • Perishables – such as food and any liquids
  • Living things – such as plants or animals

No, you cannot live or sleep in a storage unit. It's illegal to use self storage as a residence. Additionally, you cannot use a storage unit to store living things (e.g., animals, plants), hazardous materials (i.e., anything that's flammable or combustible), or perishable food.

There are plenty of legal ways to use self storage. Common reasons why people rent a storage unit include:

  • Moving to a new home
  • Decluttering a home
  • Remodeling a home
  • Experiencing a life transition (e.g., retirement, separation, relocation)
  • Living in a small apartment

7Insurance Coverage & Program

Yes — for your benefit and protection, our rental agreement requires that tenants have insurance on their stored property. For your convenience, we offer coverage through Xercor Insurance Services, paid in addition to the base rent as a single monthly payment.

Rented parking spaces work differently: they are not part of the Xercor program, and you keep your own vehicle insurance instead (see “Do You Have Parking Space to Rent?”).

We are not responsible for and do not insure your goods in storage. However, we do offer insurance coverage through Xercor Insurance Services. This is designed specifically for self-storage and is paid in addition to the base rent as a single monthly payment.

The Xercor Insurance Program is an affordable and convenient way to insure your belongings stored at StoreGo Self Storage. It covers losses to property in enclosed, secured units against risks such as fire, water, windstorm, hail, and burglary. It also offers industry-specific coverage for perils often excluded by other policies, such as mold, vermin, and flood.

For more details, you can view the insurance brochure.

The Xercor Insurance Program default coverage tier is $5,000 per unit, with increase limits available under request.

If you have any specific questions about coverage limits, we are not licensed insurance agents. Please contact Xercor directly at (844) 769-2904, email them to info@xercor.com, or visit xercor.com.

You can also review the sample certificate of insurance for full terms and conditions.

Homeowners and renters insurance may cover items kept in storage units, but storage insurance is often the preferred option for self storage renters.

Homeowners and renters insurance policies typically place limits on how many off-premises items you may insure. Self storage insurance policies, on the other hand, cover your entire storage unit, so you don't have to pick and choose which items are protected.

Please note we are not licensed insurance agents and cannot provide advice on insurance matters. For specific questions about your homeowners or renters insurance coverage, please contact your insurance agent directly, or Xercor Insurance Services.

Yes, you can use your own insurance if it meets the requirements in our rental agreement. Please note that homeowners and renters insurance might not provide sufficient coverage as explained above.

To use your own insurance on a storage unit, please book the unit first, and then send us a copy of your insurance declaration page at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com. As soon as we receive and validate your proof of coverage, we will cancel the Xercor policy, and remit a refund.

On a rented parking space, your own vehicle insurance is the only option — there is no Xercor policy to cancel. Send your proof of coverage to the same address within 30 days of move-in.

8Insurance Claims & Contact

If you experience a loss, you must contact Xercor directly to file your claim. Facility employees cannot file a claim on your behalf or discuss claim eligibility. You can contact Xercor at (844) 769-2904 or visit xercor.com.

We recommend you take photos of any damage immediately and report the incident to the facility manager at manager.dayton@storegoselfstorage.com so we can document it.

For any questions regarding the Xercor Insurance Program, please contact Xercor Insurance Services directly at (844) 769-2904, email them to info@xercor.com or visit xercor.com.
